REPORT: Dulwich Hamlet (H)

REPORT: Dulwich Hamlet (H)

Aiden Cummins26 Apr - 20:52

The A's closed out their season in style with a 3-0 win over Dulwich Hamlet, courtesy of a Jas Williamson goal and brace from Kayra Karakus.

LINEUP: Dogor, Brereton, Turner, Walpole, Clement, Williamson, Colley, Ruetgers, Karakus, Aboul-Kheir, Kargbo. (SUBS: Cholakian, Bishop, Chaudhry, James, Graham)

The A's dominated the game from the outset, with Abi and Viv immediately getting in amongst the action in the first ten minutes - a 4th-minute shot from Abi was comfortably saved by the visitors' goalkeeper.

Despite the affair being very physical, there wasn't a whole lot of tangible action to go with it until the 21st minute, when Abi drew a foul in the box after latching on to a sly pass from Nour. Similarly to our game against London Bees, Kayra stepped up and made no mistake, slotting home into the bottom left corner.

The remainder of the half held little in the way of chances for either side, with a Viv corner forcing a goalmouth scramble that was eventually cleared 38 minutes in, but the score stayed the same going into the interval.

Actonians began the second half in a similarly possessive fashion, with Abi and Jas proving instrumental on the wings and Viv as the central striker in addition to Nour, Emma and Kayra in the midfield.

Dulwich's shot-stopper almost got her name on the scoresheet with a huge punt from behind the halfway line, forcing Elisa to leap and parry the ball away from the top corner. It almost subsequently fell to the visitors, but was eventually put behind for a goalkick.

Claudia replaced Nour in the 64th minute.

The A's then doubled AND tripled their lead in a matter of minutes, as an excellent corner from Viv landed in a dangerous spot at the back post, and Jas was there to tap home amongst a sea of bodies.

Six minutes later, another brilliant ball from Viv, from a free-kick this time, found the back post, and an incredible looping header from Kayra landed in the back of the net to secure a third and definitive winning goal for the A's.

Towards the end of the game, four substitutions were made in two stints in the 77th and 84th minute, with Emma, Jas, Kat and Viv off for Rox, Naomi, Azwa and Gabby.

The visitors made one final push for a consolation, with their number nine coming close twice in quick succession - one shot flying narrowly over the bar, and another rolling wide of the post.

The score remained, and Actonians closed out another successful season with a fantastic 3-0 win at Berkeley Fields.
