A fast start saw us take an immediate lead as Jas chased down a long ball down the right wing and squared it to the waiting Hana in the middle who made no mistake and calmly finished in the corner. 1-0.

This gave us an instant foothold in the game and it wasn't long after that Janaye went on a great run down the left wing and cut it back from the byline. The ball bounced up past Hana but Jas arrived at the back post to finish into the roof of the net. 2-0.

Ashford were battling well but didn't manage to break forwards too often and we had some further chances saved or put wide. Just before half time however, Janaye blocked a clearance on the right which flew into the path of Hana who won it from the defender and then proceeded to lob the goal keeper to extend our lead. Half time - 3-0.

No changes were made at half time and we came out looking determined to carry on where we left off. And just three minutes into the 2nd half we increased our lead. Janaye broke down the left wing and squared it into the middle where Jas arrived to tap home with a composed finish. 4-0.

With the game pretty much put to bed we made some changes, the first being Helen coming on for Naomi in the middle. Shortly after Prudie and Lois also got a rest and Annabel and Izzy took their places. Ashford also made some changes and looked a little stronger in the 2nd half and posed a bit more of a threat going forward but Elisa and the back line, expertly marshalled as always by captain Mara, were solid and let nothing dangerous through. The final change of the day was Kat coming off for Athena who dropped into the back line.

We saw the game out well to finish the season on a high and confirming a top 6 finish in the league. 2024/2025 Season, over and out!
